I recently treated myself to an ebook reader. I had been thinking about it for a long time, because I am one of those who always travels with books (yeap plural). Today I was waiting in a long line at the fitting room in a store downtown Montreal, and while other people stood there waiting getting frustrated, I just read.

The free calendar I got some time ago has some interesting features. It allows you to go through your normal life an then rewrite. January, February, March, April, March, April, September, October, September, October, November, December. Just in case you need some time to revisit what you’ve been doing.

temple of calm, peace and contentment

Lately I have been going regularly to yoga and pilates classes and I had never felt so connected with myself.
I even got a brand new yoga mat, which is a nice shade of green with a tree. I’ve decided to make my mat a little temple of calm, peace and contentment.
I have been wanting to get into meditation for a while and I am happy to say, lately it is like magic I can meditate during the Shavasana. It is such a wonderful experience. For me it is a visual and tactile experience, I see this moving colour patterns (mostly blue, an awesome shade of blue) and kind of feel my body from within. It is just great.

Personal new year

multidimensionality

I have not finished reading Doris Lessing’s The Golden Notebook. I have however started it at least two times. From what I recall one of the characters had multiple notebooks color coding the notes from the different dimensions of her life. Next to me are five notebooks plus two blank ones. I would love to find a notebook which had not only a front and a back side, but one which had all possible worlds merged together. I guess in a computer it can be done, one could simply hyperlink things together, but I am still in love with paper…

Dashing back into the shell…

Yesterday I, the little snail, thought to leave the shell for a little, go out and expose my thoughts on art an science with some friends. That did not go well. I was having double thoughts about doing it, but thought what is the good of having ideas and perspectives if you do not share them? And against what my instinct was telling me I did open up. It was not a nice dash back into the shell.
That event got me thinking about discussion and argumentation… it’s outcome will be coming up soon.

Other-half

I feel the most amazing connection I have ever experienced in my life. And it makes me feel so plenty and complete. The first times I heard the word other-half it sounded cliche, but right now it makes so much sense to me. It would be the way to summarize how I feel. I have found my other-half.

rambling on connections and tolerance

I have found myself lately telling myself and others to try to take into account where others are coming from in order to avoid that literal personal interpretation of things. Think about it for a second, how more profound understanding is when you take a second, and think about it. I read somewhere that tolerance is just a time bomb, tolerance just by itself without an effort to understand seems to me to be a time bomb. Tolerance does not require much thought or effort (even when it might seem it does), but trying to see where people and ideas are coming from, putting them into perspective is the only way to build understanding and tolerance in a deeper level.
It is difficult however to live this every second to apply the theory to every experience. It somehow requires to be so thoughtful and conscious at every second, which is not the usual way we go through our busy life. So why are we generally so disconnected? Is it just too much to be fully connected every second? Is it that why we have managed to make ourselves crazily busy? So that we have no time to experience it all and get overloaded with it? Where is the limit?
